ETHNO BIOCREDITS

  WHAT ARE THEY?

Ethnobiocredits are certificates that recognize and reward communities for sustainable practices and the preservation of biodiversity.

They are issued based on the positive impact of sustainable management actions and can be earned by companies or individuals as a way of compensating for environmental impacts.

In addition to preserving ecosystems and native species, ethnobiocredits generate income for local communities and promote social justice, combining sustainable development and nature protection.

  "MINHAS MATRIZES"

ACTIVATING THE
ETHNOBIOECONOMY

CONNECTIVITY

We present the "Minhas Matrizes" APP to all project participants, an application designed to assist in the identification and monitoring of trees and preservation areas.

Participants were instructed on how to use the system and sign image use authorization terms.

COMPLIANCE

So that all activities carried out by indigenous people are carried out sustainably and in compliance with legislation, we share Brazilian standards for seed production, mainly within the Amazon Biome.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The 37 indigenous students had the opportunity to apply what they learned in practice, recording data such as name, height, tree trunk circumference and other relevant characteristics about the trees.

TECHNIQUE

Using the technique of gathering seeds in the Amazon rainforest, we train participants in the handling and sustainable collection of natural resources, such as seeds, resins, fruits and medicinal plants.

With this activity we were able to transmit knowledge about good gathering practices that preserve the ecosystem, ensuring the regeneration of species and the balance of the forest.

SECURITY

We train participants in the correct techniques for handling tools and adopting safe practices during the gathering process in forest environments.

Artistic workshop: seeds, fruits and shells

IDENTIFICATION

Participants learned about different types of seeds (recalcitrant, orthodox), storage and processing techniques, and how to calculate the price of seeds by weight.

This activity was crucial in enabling indigenous people to value and properly commercialize natural resources.

EXTRACTION OF
BURITI OIL

We held this practical workshop with the Parintintim indigenous community to demonstrate the entire process of extracting Buriti oil.

It was essential to introduce sustainable bioeconomy techniques, using natural resources efficiently.

ARTISTIC WORKSHOP

Each ethnic group represented their culture through manual work using seeds and other natural resources.

This activity not only promoted cultural appreciation, but also encouraged the creation of products that can be used as a source of income for the community.

OUR
THANKS!

The activities were concluded with a closing ceremony, where representatives of the Associations present had the opportunity to express their opinions on the training carried out.

In addition, there was also a moment to value traditional culture, through a typical dance offered by the JUMA people.

In this way, we successfully completed another initiative!
